Bloxcidge House, providers of exceptional childcare in Oldbury, West Midlands
Blue & Peach Groups
The facility for babies and younger children up to the age of 2 years, are on the ground floor with two interlinked play rooms leading onto an outside decking area. We follow the routines of our younger babies, who eat, sleep and play according to their own individual requirements.
A variety of carefully chosen toys, treasure baskets and activities provide an early introduction to developmental play in stimulating surroundings within the context of a safe and loving child friendly environment.
Daily diaries are written up for each baby during the day and we have a set of weighing scales and a measuring mat to measure your babies growth. Our key worker system is designed to form a close bond between each child and their designated member of staff which provides re-assurance, security and stability during their time in each of our rooms.
The stairs lead up from the main reception to four upstairs play areas.
Green & Red Groups
Here we care for our 2-3 year olds. The theme of individual development is continued and we start to introduce concepts of shape, colour and size.
Often potty training starts in these groups and the nursery will liaise closely with parents to ensure consistancy between nursery and home.
The children adapt to the nursery routines which includes a sleep after lunch for those children who need one (and at this age they usually do)
Daily outdoor play is encouraged for all our groups and we are fortunate in having a large garden with easy access to local parks.
Pink and Classroom groups
For our 3 years plus, the emphasis is on preparation for school, whilst retaining the fun and enjoyment of learning through play.
Our education programme is based on curriculum guidance, which sets our early learning goals for the foundation stage. An important feature of this guidance is the 'stepping stones' which show the different stages of progress towards early learning goals.
We believe that children of all ages need opportunities for exploration and discovery and it is through play that a child learns most effectively and effortlessly.
